SHOPPING IN THE SOUKS

The souks are the shopping-centres of the 17th and 18th century. In the network of alleys every craft has its own quarter. You can do really nice shopping for yourself or the ones you left at home. The traders love to be busy helping you comprehensively and to have extended conversations with you about all sorts of things. But also if you are hasted to find something, the subdivision in quarters is very handy... We are shure that you will find your treasures right here!

In the souks of Meknes you will find: ironmongers, grain sellers, substance sellers, shoe sellers, forges, carpenters etc.

And after te shopping you can relax at the Place el-Hedim, on one of the terrasses to enjoy the crowd o the square. Once, this was the main entrance to the city of Meknes, nowadays it is crowded with artists, food and beverage.
